hightechrocker What a nice album. Progressive rock or whatever it's called; Here is a record that is easy listenable. This is due to both the compositions and the fine mix. Beautifully crafted music!

JC Kite Parade perd en originalité et en fraîcheur avec Retro mais va clairement toucher un public plus progressif en s’éloignant de la pop.

Jan Jaap Langereis What a great album! The Way Home was already a big surprise to me, but now this album “Retro” knocks me off my feet, in a positive way. After the first listen I immediately wanted to hear all the songs again. Great build-up in every song, unexpected surprises, beautiful guitar and keys solo’s and every song has a strong ending. The instrumentation is very tasteful and “Symphonic”. Top favorite song: Merry-go-round; what a journey! With a majestic Neal Morse-like apotheoses! Favorite track: Merry-Go-Round.

Retro 05:52
Can’t you tell me what I’m s’pose to say? Won’t you show me how I oughta live? Different people always chanting ‘this is how it’s gonna be’ But I’m so confused does it come with a guarantee? ‘cos I wanna know Turning over pages pick a lifestyle I can use What is the latest fad that I can call my own? Better be damn quick now ‘cos it won’t be around too long Maybe go retro to save yourself a load Try to sell me what I never need Latest model, hey better take three Plastic crap designed to break within a week or two Making memories before it’s all landfill, ‘cos I’ve had my fill Turning over pages pick a lifestyle I can use What is the latest fad that I can call my own? Better be damn quick now ‘cos it won’t be around too long Maybe go retro to save yourself a load Why can’t I have opinions of my own? Tried and tested and reviewed when I’m alone What’s my reaction? watch my reaction now Let me influence you Time has come, to give it all away now, push it all away now, gonna have my say now No more scanning pages for a lifestyle I can’t choose Stop pushing me ideas, I wanna make my own Gonna take my time now there’s no need to panic buy Digging my retro, I’ve saved myself a load Go retro

It’s not our fault, had no control, it’s just the time, we’re moving on We worked a plan, no turning back, we say goodbye to all we’ve known Somewhere up there, out in the void, there’ll be a place to start again All systems checked, we’re good to go, countdown commenced, we’re on our way So here we are, blasting in from this rock to the other side And wonder what will we find? We close our eyes, pray to all of our Gods At the speed of light, speed of light We leave behind the satellites and fading crackling radio waves We’re pushing through the emptiness so far beyond our atmosphere What will we find? are we the first? we got so many questions now Can’t give up now, we ain’t so brave, what lies ahead? it’s all unknown So here we are, blasting in from this rock to the other side And wonder what will we find? We close our eyes, pray to all of our Gods At the speed of light, speed of light The speed of light Hear us now What lies ahead? It’s all unknown We ain’t so brave Can’t give up now What will we find? What will we find?

Wonderful 06:24
Slowly, but surely, the planet that we planned lies crushed and broken in our hands All the time we thought we’d find, has just left us all behind, we’re on our own now Maybe we’re just programmed for this, just the software, in a mainframe of tears But if ignorance and greed are the ways that we succeed, we’re gonna use them There ain’t no right time, there’s just right now A chance that we can fake a way to make it home again All this pointless wasted energy When it’s just you and me that’s ever gonna make the change I wanna hear feet running, I just wanna feel something wonderful Can’t stop the future coming, so we better do something wonderful It’s gotta be wonderful How much further can we fall? we bought the lie that said, we gotta have it all Why can’t we ever really find the time? To keep a hold of what we always seem to leave behind Tell you a secret, ok? something just came to me and I’m gonna have to say I think about it, all seems so obvious The time has come to make amends, we’ve only got ourselves to blame And all that I know, is that we can’t stop the future so we better do something wonderful How much further can we fall? we bought the lie that said, we gotta have it all Update, replace and sedate it all We think we’re running, the truth is we can barely crawl And all that I know, is that we can’t stop our future so we better do something wonderful

Shadows Fall 09:14
Shadows fall across the room, the ending of the day The summer’s nearly done, we’ve all come in from play Dreaming of our yesterdays, standing proud and tall For we were younger then, we thought we knew it all And would we change a thing? if we had our time again, would it be so different? All the choices we made, comments there to be made, predestined to be the same? Looking through old photographs, faded over time They just remind us how, our future was unfolding Are we proud of what we’ve become? could we have done much more? It’s too late now to feel, we could’ve had it all And would we change a thing? if we had our time again, would it be so different? And could we right the wrongs? if we had our life again, we can be so different And would we change a thing? if we had our time again, would it be so different? Did we end up in the space, where we wanted to be? Is the world a better place, that we wanted to see? For all the times we made mistakes, repeating them again We find it hard to understand Can we change direction? maybe fate’s the reason that we’ve ended here Always thought we’d planned it but our journey turned out how it’s meant to be For all the times we made mistakes, repeating them again We find it hard to understand Can we change direction? maybe fate’s the reason that we’ve ended here Always thought we’d planned it but our journey turned out how it’s meant to be

People twisting turning in a trance, every victim pleads a circumstance It’s an occupation 9 to 5, clawing like a tiger to survive Where does it lead to my friend? Everybody’s in the firing line, searching high and low to find a sign Working every finger to the bone, feeling scared of being all alone This world’s never perfect, my friends No one’s got the will to work it out, no one seems to care See them burning images of doubt, here’s the truth laid bare Spinning in circles till we’re on our knees We all live beneath the blue sky, we’re all under the same sun Rich or poor we breathe the free air, maybe one day be as one On an intravenous diet plan, drinking holy water from a can Opening the doors within my mind, not exactly pleased with what I find But nobody’s perfect, my friends Politicians haven’t got a clue, they’re the ones that twist the knife Face the fact it’s down to me and you to make a sacrifice Don’t lead me in circles ‘cos I’m on my knees, oh We all live beneath the blue sky, we’re all under the same sun Rich or poor we breathe the free air, maybe one day be as one If you’ve got the time to work it out, life’s a loaded dice You can freeze images of doubt, but never crack the ice Spinning in circles till we’re on our knees, oh We all live beneath the blue sky, we’re all under the same sun Rich or poor we breathe the free air, maybe one day be as one

Do you know or do you just believe? in a tale, a script you can’t perceive Good and bad are lovers in the lane, savage games and cries for attention They burn, burn it down, rising up, they fall Be the change, that’s riding on the air, times are strange, away beyond compare Hold the line and fortify the soul, love’s a remedy so give all you’ve got Never burn, burn it down, rising up, fear over love, burn it down, rising up No, never fear love, never look down, always look up to the stars I can see a pale horse on the hill, could it be a sign of human will? Babylon can sink beneath the waves, drown the tyranny before it’s too late And we’ll fight ‘til the end, though most won’t comprehend They derail and drive another rusty nail If we bow, its cages into chains, where’s choice when everything’s sanctioned They burn, burn it down, rising up, fear over love, burn it down, rising up No, never fear love, never look down, always look up to the stars Never look down, always search for the stars The here and now is drifting The narrative is shifting Can you resolve the picture? Down on your knees, who’s richer? Get off the merry go round, there’s truth to be found It’s easy to change your mind and you know We got it wrong from the start The absence of heart was tragic now look where we are Your second sense is heightened Some on the fence, some frightened It’s only now the beast roars No sacred vow on these shores Get off the merry go round, there’s truth to be found It’s only a change of mind and you know We got it wrong from the start The absence of heart was fatal now look where we are We observe them as they hang out the angels Get off the merry go round, there’s truth to be found It’s only a change of mind and you know We got it wrong from the start The absence of heart is fatal now look where we are Wake from slumber Greet the new morning Light the beacons Raise the banner Wait in silence, cease the violence now Calm the ocean Drop the notion There’s no cure, no magic potion here Bring home the boys and the girls and the fallen ones Wars be over now It’s never easy, it’s never easy It’s never easy to turn away
